Dip Stick Urinalysis

Dipstick urinalysis is a quick and convenient test used to screen for and monitor various health conditions. It helps in the early detection of diseases such as urinary tract infections (UTIs), kidney diseases, and diabetes by identifying abnormal substances in the urine.

It can quickly indicate the presence of a urinary tract infection by detecting nitrites and leukocytes (white blood cells) in the urine.

The presence of protein, blood, or specific gravity changes in the urine can indicate issues with kidney function, prompting further investigation.

Abnormal glucose (sugar) levels in the urine can indicate diabetes or poor glucose control in diabetic patients. Ketones in the urine can indicate diabetic ketoacidosis or other metabolic disorders.
